Duplicolor Bedliner Drying Time?
I have looked on the can, searched this forum and looked on Duplicolor's website. What is the drying time before it can be touched or things set on it?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I used duplicolor on my truck about a year ago. I used 2 gallons. It was cheap, and it was crap. Its coming off, it faded in the sun. It came out horrible. If I remember correctly, dry time was overnight. So, probably less than 8 hours. If you still can, return it. If you want, I can take a picture tomorrow to show you what it will look like after a year of sun exposure.
I have heard good things about herculiner DIY. Available at most autoparts stores. I haven't used it though.
I then found a diy bedliner from second skin. hxxp://www.secondskinaudio.com/products/bed-liner.php I got a gallon of their first batch, and it came out awesome. Nearly commercial. I plan to use the other half of a gallon on the bed of the JK and in a toolbox. The stuff is strong and rubberized. They are doing some more reserach, but should release the next batch real soon.

Thanks for the info Doctoroctos, I just used it to spray a couple of bolt heads that were heavily oxidized (very small project). I will keep that in mind if I bedline a larger project or if the bolt heads start to look really bad.
I used the rattle can version of it to cover some bumpers a few years back. It dried to the touch pretty quickly. But it stayed soft for days. I could press a thumnail imprint into it for several weeks after it was sprayed. And that was in the summer. After it finally hardened it was fine. But it seemed to me that it took an awfully long time for it to fully cure.
Rattle can version used on both my well-cleaned wheel wells and a new / wire brushed / sanded rear bumper. It started flaking off after just a few weeks. However, it has stayed on the powdercoated front ARB for two years ... my surface prep must have been lacking. Be sure to prime and allow dry before rattling on ...
