Default Dv8 TC1 tire carrier fitting.

just got a TC1 tire carrier from DV8, got installed and rolling looks bad ass, only one issue. My lower male end hit the bottom of the female end. I grinded some down so I can get it to close but I have to really slam it hard. Looks like the lower bracket is slightly smaller than top , any ideas how to open it up a little, tried a rubber mallet already.

Thanks!

Are you talking about the latch panel on the driver side? If I remember correctly they stole the Genright design, so it should use the same latch plate. Take an angle grinder and remove some material, or sand the bushing down. It'll become easier as it wears too. I still have to slam mine shut sometimes due to the way the rubber bushings react with the weather.
