Default Dynatrac D44/D60 Question

I am very interested to know if I did a DynaTrac ProRock44 up front and the ProRock60 out back would this hold up to tires larger than 37"?

For that matter is the ProRock44 really any better than the stock Rubicon JK D44 up front with Evo C-Gausset and sleved?? I struggle with how a $4K axle (D44 none the less) is really worth that? Take out a D44 and put a D44 back in!? Someone please convence me that the ProRock44 is really worth the $4K and can handle 37's and hemi...(where i will be in a year or so)

It really blows my mind the prices of these axles. Your buy a dodge ram with 60s and the axles make up half the cost. I would like an explanation from the folks that sell these why are they so expensive.

The reason you're spending extra money is because the housing is different, it's a lot more rigid and won't bend (under normal circumstances). The c's are also stronger and won't bend, as many OEM D44/D30s do. As far as the guts, I'm pretty sure they are the same and don't differ much. Ring and pinion can't be different, carrier of your choice, and shafts of your choice. Plus, the pumpkin is designed for a little moe ground clearance.

Same for the D60. Rigid housing, but now you have a BIG ring and pinion, 35-spline shafts, and lock-out hubs.

IMO, I rather get an OEM JK D44 (for a reasonable price), and gusset/sleeve it than spending $4,000 for a ProRock44. BUT, finding an OEM JK D44 for a cheap price now, is hard.

My guess is DynaTrac ProRock44 is built and marketed to those upgrading from stock D30.

Otherwise I agree, it doesn't make economic sense that it is stuck in the middle between a strengthened stock unit and the big-daddy D60. Is Dynatrac a sponsor here, or can a rep comment?

Since you have the stock D44 front, just upgrade it, will save a bunch of money over the new D44 and be similar in strength, etc. If you're really willing to spend $4K on a front axle, save the extra and go with the D60.

Yeah, I am actually about to purchase a set of Dynatrac ProRock60's but before I spend the major money I want to explore all my options. There are a lot of parts/mods I could do for $12K...

I moved this to modified,,

If your spending 4 grand on the front. I'd just save a little more for the 60.

On 37's, You wont break it. On 40's you probley can with a hemi, But it would take stupidness

I compared, and bought the Rock Jocks. John, David, Travis, and the Currie family are great folks, and build good stuff. I saved $$THOUSANDS too over Dynatracs best deal.

They are expensive, but they are made to bolt in to the JK, and have the tone rings for the ABS, ESC, etc. HUGE knuckles and joints compared to the 44. Worth the little extra.

That's OK unless you are not comfortable sending your money to a company that sends it to communist china.

It is $6k for a pre-assembled Dynatrac D44 with an ARB locker installed. Seems a little high to me since a D60 is pocket change away.
