Dynatrac disappointment
First off, I do not believe there is a better housing then what Dynatrac offers. That being said I am beyond disappointed in there ball joints as well as how they take care of issues with their products. I purchased and had Northridge install the prosteer ball joints at an astronomical premium. After breaking a u joint, the lower joint pushed out of the seat and separated the upper due to the pressure.
I then call to order rebuilds and find they are $100 and the studs are $80 a piece. Doing the math that is $260 for a rebuild. They offered a discount bringing it to $200. My payment was processed and parts were never shipped because the studs were not available. I am then told they will ship the next day, with new studs off the assembly line, which they didn't. I then decide to take everything apart and reassemble with the existing parts and everything is nice and tight, and back where it belongs. Perfect, so I thought.
I cancel my order and it takes almost two weeks to process my refund, so be it, I did cancel so I suppose I must wait.
Then, one month after cancelling they ship the parts because the studs are finally available. I immediately contact them to question the shipment. They again take the money directly from my account. They cancel the order they mistakenly sent and a week later I am told they must wait for the parts to return and be inspected for a refund. They stopped shipment in route and I never received anything, so why must I wait for their mistake?
Now two weeks later I still have not got a refund. Going back to the math at $550 for the joints and $200 for the rebuilds, one can simply purchase Alloy Usa, or Synergy and just replace them when they go nearly three times for the same price!
Sincerely, One Disappointed Jeeper!!!!!

I agree the way they are handling this is not good they should of never shipped you the parts and never charged you since you canceled. And We would hope they would have rebuild kits in stock as well!
The ball joints they make are awesome. I have posted many many times on here that one of the main reason I don't like u-joint axle shafts is because when the u-joint breaks it usually takes out ball joints. And this is why I highly recommend RCV shafts .
If there is anything I can do to help you just let me know.

Thanks David,
I have been wheeling for years and never had an issue like this. I do like the idea of an RCV but for the extra cost I don't see a huge benefit. I would much rather replace a joint and shaft then a r&p. I run a local off road club that does mostly slow technical rock crawling and have seen my fair share of joints and shafts break without destroying ball joints. Can it happen, I know now, Yes. The PR44 housing you sold me last year is awesome and like I said Dynatrac makes world class products, I am just disappointed in the service and organization end of it. In addition the price point is so high they are not really beneficial when you factor in the rebuild parts.

Suck's about the ball joints and sucks to hear Dynatrac seems to be dropping the ball on parts and rebuild tho.

A properly installed HP front D44 R&P will be stronger than an RCV shaft. There a quite a few guys on D44's up front with big rubber that have broken RCV's, however there are barely a handful that have broken the R&P. It why dynatrac introduced the 44/60 hybrid. RCV's will eliminate your ujoint issues and give you a much smoother operating shaft, especially when locked at full turn.
