Yup i agree. It hangs way too low. I haven't wheeled with it yet but I'm sure I will be replacing this eventually. I think it's funny it's called the rock crawler exhaust when this is one of the few, if not the only, that hangs below the frame in the middle of the jeep. I like the sound of it and the looks if it. I even like being able to see the shinny muffler hang below the frame. Lol. It adds a little bling under there. Haha. I can just see it getting damaged soon.

Oh and my directions said to cut the pipe even for a 4 door. I cut the 2.5 inches off and the hanger for the down pipe and it lined up perfect with the bracket. The only hard part was notching the poison spyder evap skid. And by hard part I mean removing the damn thing. I used a plasma cutter to notch it. ?

UPDATE

A few things I have learned recently.
The cut is needed for the 4 door, this allows the hanger to hand straight down and not at an angle. At angle it could cause stress on the system.
We DO NOT suggest this with a 2 door, the reason is the way the exhaust dumps out it could melt the emergency cable.

Sorry about this, I was told one thing by one side but have been told the correct info from Tech.

So today i received my Christmas gift from the wife and went straight to installing my new dynomax evolution system and followed the directions to the "T," made the cut, and still nothing fit right at all. the dynomax website states

2011-2007 JEEP Wrangler 2/4 DR 3.8L V6
EVOLUTION COMPETITION SYSTEM - FOR OFF-ROAD USE ONLY - P/N: 39516

I mean am i getting this wrong. I heard a lot of great reviews on this product on project jk and not i have a cut and half install system that now everyone is finding out that is doesn't fit the 2 doors. is this false advertisement. I didnt think about going online and finding any install issues cause basically everyone said it was the easiest system to install. Any advice on what i can do. i don't think i will be able to return it now and i don't want a half installed part hanging off my jeep and a very mad wife.

We are in the process of getting the website up to date to reflect the 4 door only for this system.
This system can work on a two door, but there would need to be more cutting if you choose to go this route.
Again our concern on a 2 door is at the turn down spout could melt the E-brake cable and possibly heat up the axle housing.

Default Do not cut the intermediate pipe!

To all owners of 4-door JK's who purchased Dynomax #39516: I DO NOT RECOMMEND cutting that 2.5 inches off the intermediate pipe as you're told to do in the instructions. Doing so will place the muffler in contact with the crossmember, forcing you to hang the exhaust lower than it should. Keeping the pipe whole allows you to move the exhaust toward the rear, which clears the crossmember and allows you to hang it in a higher position and out of the way of rocks, etc.

I'm glad I decided to test fit the exhaust before doing any cutting (almost did!). That probably saved me from returning it to Dynomax. You can always do the cut off AFTER doing a test fit, if you want to, but keeping that extra length gives you that much more adjustment room.

Great info. Just a heads up, we are working on get these instructions updated, FYI. The cut is needed on a 2 door.

Does that apply to p/n 39522 as well? If so, I had already made the cut per the instructions. Is there a possibility to get a replacement pipe so that I can get a proper fit. Thanks...
