Thats for sure!

Well I ordered these items last week.

Rough Country 4" Lift

An 1.25" Body lift

And Duel Steering Stabilizer

I spent about 6-7 hours yesterday trying to get this all on. LOL stupid me.

I have the steering stabilizer and the body lift complete. But man O man this suspension is a tricky one.

Do other people run into the problem not being able to take off the passenger front upper control arm because the catalitic converter is in the way. Like the bolt doesnt have enough room to come out. Was a real pain! Had to disconnect the cat and drop it enough to get the dumb bolt out.

Plus! I dont mean to complain but the instructions that came with the lift dont really look like it was updated for the lift with the control arms. So it doesnt actually even tell you when to install the new ones.

Needless to say, I dont even have ONE side of the front done yet.

And boy am i sore!

If I have one complaint about my RC lift it was that the instructions were weak. It was my first time doing something like that and I needed some more hand holding.....(wow that was a long time ago....lol)

toad : LOL yeah thats what i thought about dong but it didnt come with new bolts for that arm so i figured i shouldnt cut it. Well we finally got the bolt out but it was late and i was tired.

dyolfknip : Seriously. I have done two sapcers lifts in the past. One was my RC BB and the other on my Suzuki Grand Vitara. But neither were nearly this complex. Put together! LOL The instructions are real weak IMO on this 4" kit.

What no fun? The first time is always the hardest time! There will be more. Besides, I see it as an oportunity to learn more than expected. Brings you closer to your Jeep.

Man I feel your pain. I spent 10 1/2 hours doing my RC 4" lift last Saturday, and I don't even have the control arms installed yet.

My first issue: The Pitman Arm. That joker isn't coming off unless you have a commercial grade puller and impact wrench. The Autozone rental is NOT gonna do it. 2 broken sockets later I gave up. Go buy a 12-pack for the guys at your favorite autoshop, and it won't take them 15 minutes to do it for you. That will save you at least 2-hours of wasted time and frustration.

2nd issue: They forgot the replacement bolt for the passenger side front upper control arm. That sucked, because I already had all 3 of the other arms off the vehicle, and when I realized I couldn't get that bolt out without cutting it, and I didn't have a replacement, I had to put all the stock stuff back on just so I had a driveable vehicle. That said, it drives just fine with the stock control arms so honestly I'm not in a huge hurry to install the new ones after the buttkicking it gave me last week. It will get done, but I'm gonna have a hell of a time talking the wife into giving me another 4 hours on a Saturday to do it.

It is a nice kit, they just need to polish up some of the details in the instructions, like how do the cambolts need to be positioned?

Westbayou : I know exactly what you mean! Actually though the pitman arm was easy for me(make sure you hit it a few times to break loose with a hammer). I used a large crescent on the nut without a problem and i had borrowed a basic arm puller from a buddy and it worked just fine. just slid off. lol

Have you completed the rear end yet? Im REALLY hoping its a bit easier! LOL

is the replacement shorter? Because if it isnt how would it go in. I don't see anywhere in the instructions where it talks about this. I noticed there is one bolt that is by its self it's like a gold color. Is that the replacement?

That should be it, but get in touch with Ben, and double check!

Good question mentioned above, is the replacement bolt shorter?

Installing the rear lift was much easier than the front. But I haven't installed the control arms in the rear either. Gonna attack it one day soon after my body has recovered. I still hurt a week later.
