Question Electric Supercharger; WTF?

I was researching belt-driven supercharges when I came across a unit that uses a 900W electric motor to drive the turbine (that appears to fit to a CAI) & claims 3PSI boost & 17-25% more torque without any further engine mods, & all for a couple of hundred bucks (I won't post the link here or mention the manufacturer as I dont want to break forum rules)

Anyone else know anything about these; are they for real or just a gimmick to take money off teenage motor heads looking for more power out of their Pintos?

I like the ones that look like model airplane fans for jets, or rebuild boat pumps with a faster motor. forget it dude. one of those things falls apart in your intake, you're hosed. better off buying or better yet building a turbo set up for a couple a hundred.

I skimmed through it, pretty interesting.
