For 305/70/15s.....it looks like you have a spacer lift or some type of budget boost. Otherwise I think the gaps would look much tighter between the tires and wheel wells.

A 2.5" lift with proper wheel back spacing will clear 35s. I would look above your springs and see if you have little black pucks at the top. If so you have a budget boost or spacer lift.

For 35s on a 3.8L engine and tranny, you would want to regear if you have 3.21s at some point. If you have 3.73s or above it will not be too bad as long as you have a stick. With an automatic I would say the minimum for 35s would be 4.10s and better off at 4.88s or 4.56s.
