Hey all,
I was installing the brackets to my york oba and as I was snugging up one of the long bolts on the front of the engine the bolt all of a sudden gave way and I heard a klank, like metal falling onto metal (could have been the tools on my jeep or the ratchet bumping something but I am afraid it was something giving way in the engine block). I immediately backed all the bolts of the bracket out and examined the threads on that specific hole by rethreading the bolt in without the bracket (the threads on the bolt looked undamaged and I couldn't visual inspect the threads in the block because the hole is too deep and I can't get by head right up to it). The bolt threads into the engine block and does become snug, however I did not torque it much in fear of causing further damage. I need some help diagnosing and figuring out the next best step. What does this
bolt do? Does this part of the engine block fall down into the oil pan? I have attached a picture to show which bolt it is. 3.8 2007 JK 2 door.
