As soon as you get a second working key, (you must have two working keys to self-program keys), get yourself a third and maybe a fourth key from internet websites and program them yourself. Self-programming directions are in your owner's manual, NOT the user guide that came with your Jeep. Full owner's manuals are available free from Jeep.com under the "owners" section.

Get the made in the USA keys. They are better quality than some of the imported keys.

i know this is an old thread but I am having this same issue. I can get my 2007 jk to start after removing and replacing the cb1 in the fuse box under the hood. I've had to do this many times. my question is..how do i fix this permanently? replace the wireless control module? thanks in advance..

 

Dam.... I spent 15 on ebay.... I got suckered. I paid 4.50 for the 1997 Ford F150 and about 5 bucks for my wife's 15 Ford Edge.... programmed everything in less than an hour using the owners manuals.
