Default ENGO Winch problem

OK. Finally got my 10K Engo installed yesterday. Hooked up the wiring this afternoon. Double-checked everything and gave it a go. Hooked up the remote control. Pressed the in button and the cable went out. Pressed the out button and the cable went in. WTH!! Checked all wiring everything is as instructions. Help!

Is your wire coming from the top or bottom of the drum before going out the fairlead?

If top, then it's backward. If bottom, your next step is to figure out if the problem is with your remote or within the winch.

Is it possible to connect the remote backwards? Just a thought.

The cable is on the bottom.

I wonder if they hooked up the motor wrong in the actual unit. I would send it back and get it replaced. Or you can reverse the polarity by putting black on red and red on black.. I would send it back though.

i had the same problem they had to send me a new spool it has something to do with the inside of it not being correct... if you put it on free spool and hit the out button and it goes out at 100MHP then its wrong thats what he had me do it made a mess of my rope.. just call the 1800 number on the instructions and they will hook you up...

hope this helps

Thanks all. Got it solved today. Called Rockridge and they walked me through it. It appears the white and black wires coming from the remote unit were reversed in the solenoid assembly. Took about 2 minutes to reverse them and it was all good!
