Default Essential armor?

Alrighty folks. There's probalby already a thread on this but I haven't found it. If there is, kindly point this n00b in the right direction.

Until then, what do you consider to be essential armor for off-road adventures? Anything special I need to consider when researching the brands?

Thanks.

X2..... I made my own oil skid that lines the bottom and front lip. Traced the bottom of pan, measured the lip (3/4 way up). Cut 2 of each outline and used epoxy weld to secure them. Painted them and epoxy welded them to oil pan.... Saved myself at least $100.... I also run RIver Raider evap skid... Bit heavy, but nothing short of an armor piercing bullet or getting hit by a tank is going to damage it.... I would also armor your rear shock mounts (bottom) because they will take a beating...

Can you take some pictures of the skid plate you made for your oil pan? I bet it looks awesome.

Sliders and evap canister skid or relocation. Then oil pan if you feel its necessary.

I do not recommend the Rock Hard Oilpan/Transmission/catalyic convertor
skid... it interferes with the exhast and causing vibration noises,, takes added spacers to fix it... If your thinking of skidding all of this area go a different route...

Most importantly I would say diff covers because they hang the lowest on the trail and are the most exposed, than off course rock sliders which protect your body and provide a sliding surface over big rocks.
