Default Estimated cost to go from 3.21 to 4.10?

I recently purchased a 2007 Jeep Wrangler X Model 6-speed without the towing package. It came with a 3.21 axle ratio. I want to upgrade to 33” tires and I’ve read that the gear ratio needs to change as well. Does anyone sell the gears and parts that are needed to make this upgrade? If so, does it come in a kit and is there a suggested retail price? What would be the approximate installation cost if this work was done by the dealer or an independent shop? I need to have an idea what this change may cost me?

Thanks for the help.

My dealer gave me a price of 2500.00 to change to 4.10's. Dont go to the dealer!

The gears dont have to be changed. It's not nearly as bad as you think with the 3.21's. I have 3.21's and 35" tires. You definetly lose 5th & 6th gear with the 35's. I am getting 4.88's but it is ok to drive around now just like it is. I would get the tires and see how it feels you may be suprised to find out its ok for you. Good luck!

I'm running 3.21's w/ 34's (305/70/17's) and it's livable, but I'm upgrading to 4.88's.

This can be expensive, or it can be relatively cheap. Since you want 4.10's, you may be able to score some used 4.10's cheap from somebody that's stepping up. I see that you're in Rome. I'm in Rockmart, not far from you. I know a guy that does them pretty cheap. He re-geared my CJ last year and was very reasonable and did a good job. He's done this for years, and used to work at a 4WD shop. Whe I ask him about mine, I'll ask for you too if you're interested.

Around here in Southern Maryland about $500 an axle is normal plus the cost of the hardware. I would consider lockers also if you are going in and ever plan to do some more serious wheeling. That is my plan later down the road if I upgrade gears.

Quadratech is offering 4.88 and 5.13 for a little over $220...

My question is if I plan on using spacers to support 33's without lifting which set would be better for towing and mountain two tracks?
