DO you remember what you were charged to have the RE lift installed? One shop was describing cutting and welding and drilling and shafts and headaches and a lot of cost to install the lift. Seemd a bit much (1500-1800 $mack$?!)

Does your LA kit have much chatter or clunking on the road, or is it a quiet kit?

Have you had the opportunity to compare your RE to any other LA kits? Any comments about the others??

Thanks

I've been pulling my hair out over lift options as well. One of my main concerns is I hate the factory rake and want to get rid of it when I lift. Do most of the aftermarket 2 or 3 inch lift kits address this problem? I plan on 2 or 3 inches and running 33's. I would prefer a suspension lift, not a BB. I like the idea of more axle articulation and I think they are just a better deal overall. But then again, one idea I can't get out of my head is running 3" front HD springs and 1 3/4 rear spacers to get my needed lift and get rid of the rake. I know Pro Comp makes a kit like this, but 4 inch front springs might be more than I would like. I plan on a aftermarket bumper and a winch as well, so depending on how it looks, 3/4 inch spacers on the 3" front springs might be needed to level it out. Any thoughts on this idea? I am hoping to hear that the lifts available out there now take care of the rake issue, I REALLY don't like a 4X4 that sits like a 70's hot rod. I like the Old Man Emu kit, 2" is about perfect for what I want. Help?

What are some of the things you look for when evaluating one lift kit over another?

And, if you are looking at a Jeep that has already been lifted, (i.e. at a dealer) what sre some of the things to look out for?
When I was looking, there weren't many kits yet, so I went with what I found to be the best bang for the buck. And had good reviews. I also was sure of what tire size I was going to have for the duration.

Stay away from relocation brackets, the rear track bar relocation bracket is fine but more than that sucks. I went with my lift because it was rated very well and it was a good starting point for me. (It should be noted that the BD kit that was rated so highly isn't the stock BD kit. It had the Superlift Adjustable control arms and Bilstein shocks) Your going to want adjustable control arms so look for those in the kit or upgrade the kit.

I've never purchased a lifted Jeep. I always went out of my way to purchase close to stock as possible so I could upgrade it the way I wanted to. They never seem to have the lift that I want with the tires I want.
