Default Evap Canister... how important?

I have not done anything about my evap. canister yet and I am maybe going wheeling tomorrow and I am wondering how big of a deal is it really? I am not planning on doing anything too crazy, but I sure don't want to have a problem on the trail. How long does it take to do the relocation?

I only have a 3" teraflex lift and 35s, is it likely I will knock it off?

No big deal. The chances of hitting the evap canister are very low if you look underneath your jeep you 'll see it would be pretty hard for anything to hit it.

THe chances are pretty low for hitting it the farther up you go, BUT look all under the Jeep. Funny how the canister is the only thing with it's butt in harm's way, ain't it? It's just plastic, too. It won't take a hit. Do like I did. For 99 bucks I got the Rockhard evap skid from David at Northridge. That thing is a serious piece of artillary. It will hold up the entire rear of the Jeep. It's badass and it WORKS.

Relocate it!! Either Woods (www.jeepswag.com) or Kilby. I got the Kilby from David (long ago). Depending on what you're doing/where you're going ya SHOULD be OK...Short term. The only issue with that approach is that it's alot like saying "man it's been a long time since I had a flat tire" if ya know what I mean. It's @ 1 hour and really easy to do (once ya got the parts)

BTW: I used screw-on hose clamps on each connection after I kept getting codes after the relocate...no problems since then.

I think I wont worry about it for tomorrow's trip, but this week is spring break and I will swap it out then. Thanks for the input.

Just be sure if you remove the white sensor thingy on the end to put it back on the same way it came off. That damn thing gave me check engine codes for weeks until I figured out it was on sideways.

Relocated it with the Woods kit, it is a fun kit to work on.

Either way works well. As noted, you just need to be careful if you relocate it because of computer codes being set. I chose the skid because I relocated my muffler and the skid gives me something to come off of for a muffler skid plate. I can tie it all together and make a nice neat package.....and then I still have the area where the stock muffler used to be, kept clear.
