Default Evo rock star math problem

Okay I am really digging the evo rock star skids (have for awhile) but have a math problem for you. I have a Teraflex 2.5" coil lift with shock adapters and a 1" teraflex rear coil spacer and I am using the rubi shocks. I did some measurements and it says the skids lift the shock's bottom mount up 2". Now I removed my shocks and tried to simulate a full stuff with the rear tires off but could not get to the bump stop because the Jeep kept lifting off the jack stands rather then getting to the bump stops and was just not feeling this was the safest with the rear wheels off. So I measured and calculated that with 3/4" of bump stop compression I would have 7/8" left before my shocks bottomed out. I don't have all my measurements near me but am pretty confident in these.

My question is how much does the bump stop compress? Is 7/8" enough safety factor? Also I am thinking that I could trim a 1/2" or even a full inch off my upper shocks extension bracket. Any thoughts on this? Does this make sense? Any thoughts, comments, suggestions?

It appears I can handle extra downward flex as my brake lines are quite slack with an extra inch of downward travel as well as the abs sensors. My rear spring come un seated after an extra inch of downward travel but I have bottom spring retainers and the Teraflex Coil spacer has a reseating guide in it.

I've read that the bumpstops will completely compress to the metal cups, as in the white/yellowish part will not show at all. I have never been able to get mine to compress that far though, only to about 1/2" of the white still showing.

Default ok thanks

Yeah okay I will do some more measuring when i get home and see. Maybe a half inch trim to my shock extenders will buy some peace of mind while still offering ~2 more inches of downward travel. Thanks for the info. Biginboca.

They will flatten right out, I think I have some pictures somewhere. I'll post if I can find them.

Default Oh Yeah

I completely forgot you have the rockstars Alaska. Those pictures would be great. I will measure again for full stuff including bumpstop compression to the metal cup and then I think I will end up cutting probably a 1/2" to full inch off the rear shock extenders. That should still get me 1-1.5 inches of extra downward travel. No other tips you can tell me hey? The install looks pretty straight forward and I really dont think I have much fear anymore of taking a drill or sawsall to the Jeep. Thanks for the reply. We should seriously do some wheeling in DC this summer now that your 37's wont look my 35's look as small as your 37's did to my 32's.
