Default EVO sleeve?

Im getting ready to install my EVO magnum axle sleeves soon and have a question. Do you remove both inner and outer plastic "spacers" when reinstalling axle. I was told they are there for the purpose of assembly at the plant.

I put Teraflex sleeves in mine, left both plastic pieces in/on. One is all the way in the tube, near the diff, the other was on the shaft. If the one on the shaft won't fit in the sleeve, which it won't, it'll just push it out to where it needs to be while sliding the axle back in. The one in the axle tube will be fine, it doesn't interfere with the sleeve install, or it didn't mine, as the sleeve doesn't go completely up against the end of the tube near the diff. The spacers, or rings, are to help guide the shaft back in, to prevent tearing the seal up upon reinstallation. I'd just suggest making sure the inner ring is in place correctly (I used a broom handle to push it flush against the housing in there, and then slide the sleeve in for a test fit, to make sure it goes in to where it's supposed to. On another note, the EVO's have those O-ring seals and grease fitting on them, so the one on the axle shaft MAY have to be removed, but if the sleeve goes all the way in with the one in the tube still in there, I'd definitely leave it in, to help guide the shaft back in.

thanks for the info, so if it comes out with the axle shaft, insert the inner one back in the tube....sounds like a good idea to protect the seal during installation......thanks
