I am TOTALLY bias but I really like the rockcrawler systems we offer.
It relocates the muffler in front of the rear axle.
A lot smaller than stock.
About a 4-5 out of 10 on sound.
Made in the USA.
Limited Lifetime Warranty
90 day Sound and Performance Guarantee. If you aren't happen return it for a refund.

If "a little meaner" is what you're looking for, that's what I, too, looked for --
Lower tone but not too loud, relatively quiet when cruising, which wakes up and gives good low tune when you step on it, and no annoying drone or ricey sound.

First to be dropped from the list were the non stainless steel, the glass-filled, and the too loud.
Then, I eliminated the 'before the axle exit' options, as I didn't want exhaust gases inside the cabin in certain conditions.

Out of the rest, I chose, by sound quality (which is, of course, subjective), the Magnaflow # 15237 Cat-Back System Performance Exhaust.

So far, all my mods have been strictly functional. The exhaust is the only exception, I simply love the sound...

Well, I do have a 'functional excuse'... ...the muffler is smaller than the stock one and is tucked high in the frame, so it's less vulnerable than the stock muffler was back there...

I love my exhaust I am running the muffler by it self from the dynomax rock crawler kit and love it.

I had it dumped before the axle defiantly sounds meaner and unless your at a real high rpm (5k and above) it doesn't sound ricey at all and no drone on the hwy either that was a major concern when looking for exhaust

Whole thing only cost me $120 got the muffler for 70 off summit racing and a local muffler shop charged 50 to weld it in and add a turn down and a hanger

If you go the muffler route, keep this in mind.

Just installed the AFE high tuck cat back system. Very happy with it so far. Fit was bang on, no highway drone and just the right amount of noise

My Dynomax rockcrawler system arrived today. Took me a little over an hour to install. Hardest part was getting the old system out. Really happy with the sound and it takes care of the clearance compromised oem rear canister.

Good luck with your build.

This is my Banks system. I like it, but it did nothing for the performance. I did know that would happen
