Default Exhaust

Im wanting to give my JK some rumble. I've seen a lot out there on muffler delete but never heard one in person. Is it a good idea or should I look for after market mufflers?

For the 3.6 , If you are looking for good sound don't delete. Sounds like a rice burner with a broke manifold. Go with a straight muffler and delete the resonator. Imo.

Look it up on utube. It sounds like a street bike at high rpm. I did it and tge drone was unbearable. I went with a universal magnaflow round 6" by 18". Deep throaty sound and no drone.

Don't yank the muffler on either the 3.6 or 3.8. They will both sound like absolute dog sh*t. With the 3.6 a lot of guys ditch the factory muffler and put a round canister style muffler in place of the resonator. Its cheapish and will still tuck up nice and tight.

Either way, I recommend a canister style muffler, usually dynomax, because they are less prone to drone from my (very limited) experience building exhausts.

The Gibson exhaust will give you more than a little rumble. They are one of the loudest exhaust you can put on a jeep. And they have a loud drone in the cab. My brother put one on his jeep and hates it. I've listened to it and agree with him. You can hear him two blocks away. That's why I'm looking for something different for my jeep. But, we're both in our 50's. I hear some of the youger guys like them and don't mind the drone. Just check them out on YouTube.
