Don't expect much of a performance boost, if any at all, with just a muffler change.

We have built two different systems that are direct bolt on applications for your 4 door JK. They are currently being offered at a forum special intro price and I believe it is exactly what you are looking for.

The relocation system will move the muffler from the rear of the jeep, up into the frame rails and maximize clearance while increasing performance. These bolt on cat-back systems give the Jeep a more aggressive deep tone when you get on the gas, but remain relatively quiet at cruising speeds.

For those who want to keep the muffler in the stock location, we offer the standard muffler system that mounts in the factory location. The design of the mufflers in both systems are very similar. Check our this video clip of our 4 door with the cat-back exhaust:

We picked up HP and torque on our stock JK and the dyno shows that there is power to be made...

Either way you go, cat-back or just the muffler, its not going to be a huge performance gain. The puny 3.8 likes backpressure so a lot of free-flow exhausts can actually hurt performance instead of help. That being said, I got a flowmaster 40 series but kept all the stock piping to keep the backpressure. Aside from sounding great IMO, it didnt do much else. I also have a CAI, and the only noticeable difference was when I drove from Michigan to Pennsylvania and averaged 20 mpg, I always got about 18 before. Around town, its pretty mush the same

I too replaced exhaust from the cat back plus CAI. All i gained was a more authortative tone. Zero performance increase that I could tell. Mine was Banks Monster exhaust plus K&N 77CAI.

That's what I like to see. Actual dyno results, not someones butt dyno telling us their muffler didn't give them anything. It may not be much but every little bit helps. I might be buying the relocation kit soon.
