Exhaust help/opinions
OK guys, yesterday I took the muffler off of my 2012. It's loud, and kinda ricy. What exhaust do you guys run? I'm more interested in what muffler you run because I am going to fab up my own system I just want to know a good muffler. Of course its not the v8 we all wish it was but what should I run to get it as close to that as possible? I need deep, and loud. I love the loud so the noise obviously doesn't bother me. Once again I know it's not going to sound like my chevy 6.0 with open glasspacks but I want that deep sound. Any and all opinions are wanted, full system or just muffler. Thanks guys!

This is what it's going in so I want a pretty "mean" sound.

I went through several mufflers on my JK.
The one I settled on was a Magnaflow Magnapack, which is pretty dang loud. However, the new JKs don't have the thumping exhaust sound that the older ones do. My exhaust has a nice thump to it at idle and it is loud when cruising.
I think you would be most happy with the MBRP, which is not too loud... but is definitely deep sounding. The JKs are quiet, even with no mufflers so you will not get that V8 sound from it really.
If you really want it LOUD, then just relocate your evap canister... then run a magnapack muffler under the driver's seat and dump it. I guarantee you that will be headache loud. My cab resonates from my exhaust and it exits in the stock location.

let's face it if you go through all the trouble and $$ to do any mods you want it to stand out whenever possible.
So I wanted a dual to set my exhaust apart from a stock single output.
And I wanted it NOT to sound stock.
I started with a dual SS Gibson, very loud to loud could not talk under load with hardtop on. It eventually broke at a weld a fell off.
Next was rugged ridge SS dual. A little tame but defiantly not a stock sound. Once again it to broke as it was kinda heavy.
Now I have a Dual Dynomax love it. Great sound built well and it's not to heavy. Great idle rumble. People ask if it's a V8.
And it tucks up much higher than stock and the others I've used.

Thanks guys. Love the input. For the time being I can't touch the cats or anything due to the warranty. Anyone tries a glasspack or a series of flowmaster?

The Magnapack is louder and more aggressive sounding. The flowmaster did have a little more low end torque.
However, like I stated... MBRP is the best all around for power gains along with a deep tone that is not droning.
EDIT: The flowmaster I had was a 40 series Delta Flow. You might have some good luck with a non-Delta flow "Original Flows" or a Super 44 for more sound. I personally haven't heard it myself, but a lot of people here love the Super 44.
