Default Exhaust Modification thoughts? Anyone?

So I was out bangin in the rocks and banged my muffler pretty good. Still functions but looks uglier than before. Came across this site that did this modification. Has anyone do this? My concerns.......You get high centered and crush your muff. Not interested in a cat-back. I want a relocation. Or would just a smaller muff in the back do the job.

I am open to all ideas custom or cheap! I would rather have function and solidness than cheap.

Thanks!

You could go with a smaller diameter muffler or you could run a muffler that is relocated in front of the axle with a new tail pipe that dumps out back. There are severl kits out there and would suggest you search for one of the many threads that are out there.

Yep, that is just what I was talking about. Several people have gone that route. You may need to move the evap over just a bit with that exhaust as well. Maybe someone that has one will chime in. I think Dynaflo may have a representive on here as well you could ask as I beleive they have a simular set up.

I did mine on the cheap just bought a magnaflow 6" round muffler and put it in the factory resonator location (just in front of the axle) then unbolted the clamp holding the factory muffler on the tailpipe and removed it the factory piping goes over the rear axle and points downward and that is how I left it.
It's loud but I'm ok with that and all my exhaust is now above the bottom of the frame and now more crush factor.

I do not want Loud but I do like a deeper sound. I am getting it done tomorrow. Going with the magnaflow silencer tucked inside the frame under the drivers side. Thanks for the info.

Here's my DIY exhaust. Dynomax muffler, 45* angle, turn down & 4 clamps. Also a little loud but I lost weight and gained clearance and departure angle.

I pretty much did the same thing almost the exact tail pipe position except I used a magnaflow 5 X 8 muffler. I am older so the loudness is a little immature for my liking but it really doesn't get loud unless I step on it. The other benefits offset this dislike. Overall happy with the modification and only ran me $120 parts and labor which I thought was a good deal.
