Default Exhaust question

Just installed Magnaflow Black Series exhaust. Also using Superchips tune currently. Do I need to remove battery cable to allow engine to retune to exhaust change.

I put on a Magnaflow last year and in the instructions it did say to disconnect the battery so the computer could "re-learn" the new set up.

I did the same thing....but I don't get it. I can see an intake, or headers. But why does it need to relearn the exhaust? There's no sensors or anything that connect to the exhaust piping. Anything beyond the catalytic converters and y pipe is just exhaust flow. There are no sensors to relearn the exhaust.
I never understood that. Stock exhaust or aftermarket, its just letting exhaust pass through. Only differences are its a smoother and quicker exit for the exhaust.
I still disconnect the negative, but I don't get why for an exhaust.

Anytime you change the slightest amount of flow... Either intake or exhaust... The computer will see it that's why you reset the fuel trim... I can't see a cat back system doing anything at all really, but you should still reset it
