Default Exhaust Question

I know there is A LOT of threads about this. But I looked and can't find the thread that I need to answer my question. I want to get either a Borla or Magnaflow. Which is better? And I just want to replace the muffler so does any one have the model or part number for this? It's a 2dr sahara with D44 in the rear. Thank you in advance for everyones help.

Neither is better, one costs more, they both work just as well. Whichever you like the sound of is the one you should buy.
I like my Magnaflow, but I like Borla as well. I just don't like it as much as they want for it. (I had an exhaust fabbed up by a shop).

Default magnaflow

I had mine done at a muffler shop and only cost 130.00 muffler included, you may look into that to save money, It may be alittle differant in cost were you're at, but its an option.

500.00 for a muffler and tip, OUCH!!!

My magnaflow system is complete from the cats, not the rear axle. Plus it gets rid of the squished stock pipe that goes over the rear axle.

the part number is 16751.

There is a typo on there web site that says 2007 w/ 4.0 I6
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...Trucks&id=1324

but I did call to confirm it was for the 2007 4dr.

I got mine from Just Magnaflow with shipping included.
$476.00

Borla is a good name but overpriced in my opinion.

I paid $449 (shipped to my door) for my Borla axle-back exhaust from Net Parts Express, who sells on E-bay.

This is my first Borla exhaust & I don't think I will never buy anything else. Yes, they're more money. Yes, you're paying a premium for the name & their marketing/distribution methods. But, IMHO, you're buying a better engineered and higher quality product.

Is there a noticeable difference in exhaust quality? That's where the argument lies, I think.

The last exhaust system I had was a custom built one with a Flowmaster muffler & I was less than impressed.

I was able to bolt on my exhaust in 10 minutes in my garage with normal hand tools (socket & wrench). Everything lined up & there were no problems.

Performance has been oustanding, especially on bottom end & low RPM's.

Being that I haven't used the Maqnaflow, I can't compare the Borla to it....but, I'm satisfied.

You guys are comparing mufflers to systems, that's why the difference. Not all cat back systems contain the same thing. Puerto Rico you got just a muffler and a tip.

I know that this is an old thread but I had a quick question. Would you get any performance/mpg gains with only a muffler and tip added (not a full system from the cats)?
