Default Exhaust tip/Muffler

Ok so at the Jeep Jamboree this weekend I landed on my exhaust tip a couple of times and I had to pry it open...

Can you safely cut off a couple of inches?

Is this a good excuse to replace it with a new and somewhat "better" one?

Thanks

I tried with a hacksaw someone had but the exhaust is stainless..

I got to flog it pretty good at the Jamboree in Pennsylvania this weekend on the level 7 trails

Last year I was here with the Jeep, prior to the lockers and big tires...

It's such a different experience, the rocks are way bigger but with the new stuff you need to ease it right up onto the obstacle and down over, your natural reaction is to stomp on the gas but you can get by with first gear in idle
