Default exhaust upgrade question

do all of the catback exhaust upgrades change the sound? i was thinking of performance improvement from a combination of exhaust, programmer, and cai but i dont like the thought of a loud exhaust.

Sound results when your ear drum vibrates from pressure waves. These pressure waves are created by your engine because each time a cylinder fires its creates a high pressure and in between cylinders firing there is low pressure coming through your exhaust. The muffler is designed to bounce these waves around and cause a high pressure from one wave to intersect a low pressure from another and canceling out the wave. This creates a lot of back pressure and performance mufflers simply do this less and as a result are louder and cause less back pressure.

thanks for the thread. as for the other post, i didnt really get any answer from your post but thanks for your reply. from all of the information that i have gathered, the bmp exhaust seems to sound the most quiet, but i still dont like the sound it produces. i know that the audio on videos posted can be a bit off, that is why i asked. thanks again for the replies
