Expedition vs Rock Crawler, How is the build different?
In the first one I believe the owner drilled into the water tanks, making them useless.

I'm like you, I like the idea of having extra water in the bumper and would hate to kill the tanks. Rule of threes, three minutes without air, three days without water, three weeks without food. All will kill you.
And three seconds without a positive mental attitude. At least that's what I teach when instructing survival to Boy Scouts. It was heavily emphasized at the three USAF Survival Schools I attended back in another life (Basic, Water and Jungle). BTW: I carry a water filter when traveling long distances, and purifying tablets in an emergency pack I keep in the Jeep at all times. Just in case. Also, in another thread someone mentioned that he had taken large PVC pipe, capped both ends, added a spigot on one end, and attached these to his overhead rack to carry an unspecified amount of water. I'm giving this consideration and may do it myself.

Thanks for sharing that. I'll add that to my list of threes. It's funny, I've always carried a pretty extensive emergency kit no matter what vehicle I've driven; tools, flares, spare bulbs and fuses, first aid, even a soldering iron.
While none of my imagined scenarios have occurred, I have had plenty of opportunities to make use of the kit, especially the first aid, when coming across people in need.
I've not yet had the need for the soldering iron, but it's light, so it stays.

Lefty and Roadking if you are planning a Seattle area JK get together, I'd be interested. I have a 2dr 09 Rubi that would be a good comparison for ya. 35 MTRs, 4.88 auto, 3.5 AEV lift, most of my stuff came from these guys [//hxxp://www.stonehengeseries.com/Stonehenge_Series_Web/Welcome.html"]http://http://www.stonehengeseries.com/Stonehenge_Series_Web/Welcome.html[/URL] You might like the 5-0 rear bumper spare mount that I have that carries two 4 gal gas or water containers.
