Experience with Nitto Terra Grappler G2?
I have read a bunch of posts/info on the Nitto Terra Grappler G2s, it seems to be all over the map. Half the reviews end up being for the non G2 version and a bunch are 3/4 and 1 ton truck guys that are mad they didn't get 100K miles out of them while towing a planet sized camper over gravel and lava.
I'm looking to put some 285/75/17 sized AT style tires on my JKU, I was going to give the Cooper AT3s a shot since they have them in the 285/75 size now but i was able to pick up a used Terra Grappler G2 with about 10/32nds on the tread to use as a spare and it got me thinking maybe the Nittos would be good too.
I guess my question is of you guys/gals here with similar vehicles what has your experience been if you have any with the Terra Grappler G2s. I spend more time on the road then i'd like to admit as well as a lot of time on the road getting to where I off road, the Jeep is my daily driver, needs to be decent in rain/snow on road (hopefully better than the Rubi BFG MTs) off road mostly overlanding type travel to camp and get away, desert tracks, easy to moderate trails in Moab, mountain trails around Ouray CO, Etc. I try to stay away from deep mud and if needed i have a winch and i'm not afraid to pull line. The on road benefits of the AT with decent off road performance is what i'm looking for.
Thanks for any input.

I'm a big fan of these tires.
I have them on my 2015, had them on my Ram 1500, and my other two JKs.
I only do beach and daily driving so I can't comment on rocks or mud. They are quiet, last a long time (60K plus miles), and are excellent in wet weather.
My son's friend run a set on his Silverado 1500 and got almost 90K miles of 100% highway driving(33's). He wanted something more aggressive looking and went with Duratracs and is now complaining of noise and chunky wear. In defense of the Duratracs they are more aggressive and probably a better tire than the Terra Grapplers in mud and rocks.
There is barely any difference between the Gen1 and G2. Both of them have a different side pattern that you can run inside or outside like you would a whitewall or raised white letter tire. Most shops don't notice this and will mix them all up. It's purely aesthetics.
Discount Tire Direct is where I get mine and they are highly regarded on this forum.
Good Luck

Yes, but not in my Jeep. I ran them on a Ram 1500 4x4 and was not disappointed. The last couple of times I had to buy tires for my JK, I really contemplated buying something more aggressive looking just because Jeeps look better will knarly tires on them but I keep coming back to these.
