Default Experience with Smashboogie4x4

Just wanted to say that Smashboogie4x4 run by Tom and Jake will be getting my repeat business. They are located in northern NJ but traveled over an hour to check out my Jeep and a few issues I was having with my RK 3.5 X Factor Mid-Arm, including a slight pull to the left. I had it worked on at another shop who could not figure out why it pulled. Jake and Tom tightened everything up, rotated my tires, welded the rear track bar bracket, ground down the rear bracket which damaged my Fox shock and performed an alignment. They spent time switching out my wheel/tire combo onto their own Jeeps and vice versa and determined that the pull is actually caused by my 37" Cooper STT tires which I began to suspect. When it came time to pay the bill they actually were ready to lower the price (which was already very reasonable) because they felt bad that they had not corrected the pull. This of course was no fault of their own and couldn't have been fixed.

The reason I originally reached out to them for help was because months ago I shot them a PM asking for some guidance regarding an issue and they responded with a half page response that must have taken 20 minutes to write, all in an effort to help a fellow Jeeper out and provide me some free advice. It's nice to have a shop in the area that has such professional, honest owners and great prices. They'll keep my business.

Great post
I haven't met them in person yet but plan to when I finally get my rig up to RC. I have purchased several items form them and they always take care of me. I too had a small issue with my rig the night before her first wheeling trip ( Had spent the last several weeks wrenching on her) I couldn't figure out the issue and was pretty panicked as we had several rigs packed up and ready to head out first thing the following morning. I sent them a PM and within an hr they were on the phone with me trying to help diagnose. They got me in touch with the factory guys and long story short we broke her in the next morning. They are great guys and will continue to get my business as well...

I've not purchased from them yet but they certainly are quite helpful and that's the type of customer service that will bring customers in and keep them coming back.

Kudos smashboogie!

I will have to give smashboogie a big thumbs up too. I have been looking it a re-gear recently and posted on a thread here saying that.

I got a PM from them saying they saw I was looking for gears and they saw I was sort of close and they wanted to give me some quotes. I was amazed at the fact they came to me. Shows me they want to help!!

The only reason I might not use them is because of the drive but they are definitely still a contender to get my business just due to the customer service.

Always nice to hear good things about shops out there. I've had so many bad experiences lately, it's good to get an idea of what other options are available.

I have posted previously of my experience with Tom and Jake of Smashboogie but will gladly add here as well. They are great guys to work with and they know their stuff and stand behind it all. They installed my RockKrawler 5.5" kit several months ago. They were great to work, happily answered any questions and very accommodating as I added more stuff. To boot they picked up my JK and delivered it back to me when they did my install.
Their customer service is second to none in the tri state area and I will happily remain a customer of these.
I had the opportunity to wheel with them as well and it was a great time. As a general newb to anything other than green trails it was great to have their experience to really show me what my Jk can do.

I first became aware of Smashboogie on this forum. To be honest at first I didn’t realize that they were a shop. They were VERY active in several threads and offered insight and help on several topics. When I later learned that they were a shop I did a little Google homework and realized that they were offering help an insight on components that they themselves don’t regularly offer. They were doing just because they wanted to help a fellow Jeeper out. I actually went back and read the threads and couldn't find one single negative comment toward the other brand(s). This gave me some insight to their personality and integrity. (I wanted to work with them.)

Fast-forward to Topless for Tatas last year (My first year). They were big supporters and offered a massive amount of stuff for the raffle; (a truly amazing amount of support from such a small group). I wanted to meet Tom and/or Jake at the event but we never crossed paths. When I got home I PM’d them as well as many others that supported the event to give thanks and mentioned I wanted to discuss lifts. They PM’d back and we scheduled a time to chat. When they called I lead with the fact that I would likely not be in the market for a while, but wanted to discuss some things to give me some direction with my build. An hour-and-a-half later we got off the phone. What’s amazing about this it the time they spent listening to me and the direction I wanted to go, knowing that there wasn't an immediate sale coming. In fact, they never once pushed a sale. If anything, the suggestions they made would delay a purchase so I could rally more coin.

Fast-forward to today. I finally got everything together to make an order and PM’d them. They quickly responded, but what amazed me was that they remembered everything we talked about six-months earlier. I ordered drive-shafts and some Synergy parts for now, but I hope to do more business with them in the future. If you are reading this thread and haven’t had the pleasure of working with these guys I encourage you to check their web-site out and give them a try. You will not be disappointed.
