Default Need to Extend ABS Lines

I am getting longer brake lines because mine get stretched to the limit, but I also want to extend my ABS lines. Has anyone else done this and if so, how? I haven't seen it mentioned much with all the higher lifts, but I would think it has to be an issue to worry about.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have looked on here and couldn't find it, so if there is already a thread please let me know.

Thanks

I also just unclipped mine. In the front there was enough room to run them zip tied to the new extended brake lines, in the rear I added a small spring to keep them pulled up out of harms way but let them pull down when needed. Flexed the heck out of it this weekend and no issues what-so-ever.

I don't know how you could do it without possibly interfering with the signal. Any kind of splice would result in a discrepency in the signal to the computer, due to a difference in resistance.

it can't be that sensitive... If you use the same gage wire and only added a few inches to it, the resistance will not go up that much, I mean we are talking maybe a hundredth of an ohm.

this was my plan when the time came, just cut the wire and add in a lenght of wire equal to the lift i added (i.e. 6" of lift means i add 6" of wire).

Nope, I had to replace about two inches of wire, both sides front to mine due to a bit of stupidity during my front bumper replacement. I spliced them (cut both sides, DOH!) with slightly larger and longer wires , soldered both ends, used heat shrink and coated the heat shrink with liquid electric tape. So far about 4k miles with no problems.

Renewing a old post I found....

Anyone find a better way to do this?

I am considering buying some male/female connectors and making a pigtail, so that all i need to do is plug it in at both ends, viola an extension. Where could I get these connectors (other than the stealership)

Teraflex 6" lift (or even coilovers etc) pushes it to the limits with the abs line.....

No, really just splicing is about the best way to deal with it. I need to do this as well, because I nearly rip mine every time I flex out.

Any updates on this? Seems like Woods our someone would make a plug in one. I can cut and extend, but it won't be as pretty. :-)

Plus a plug will last longer... Thinking 10+ years down the trail...

What ever way you extend them just make sure there is no excessive slack. Zip tie them down everywhere... I ripped one off this weekend, luckily it just unplugged but there was a small loop and my tire lug grabbed it.

I've also noticed that the original ones on my 07 were much shorter than the replacement one Clayton put on when one broke during my gear install.... Maybe worth the 13 bucks to get newer ones?
