Extra fuel
Whats the best way to pack extra fuel around? Best Gerry/gas can?
Heard metal gerry cans can go bad after a short time?
What about Rotopax? Anyone use them?

I don't have my own but I've used plenty of (gov't supplied) jerry cans, I've never had a problem with them and you could tell they had been in service for a few years. The only time I have ever seen a rotopax in person it was laying on the freeway by coal creek after apparently falling off of somebodys rig. I'm not saying that it wasnt 100% user error on that one, but it hadn't been destroyed while laying there, so its gotta be worth something on that note. I personally like the jerry cans more, the rotopax carry smaller amounts and are usually a lot more akward sizes.
I've had jerry cans for decades with no problems; however, those new style ones that have the plastic necks and plastic attachements at the top... if you start tipping them over (like on a steep incline) the gas leaks out the top around the neck area. Not real safe in my opinion. These are the newer style steel cans with those stupid plastic necks that have to be pushed in for gas to flow out, oh yes, and you need that cone adapter to use for filling up a car or truck.

Need help Planning on a trip December 3rd probably going to fight more snow than rocks. But I want to take some extra fuel with me and dont have the money for expensive mods right now. I was given an old jerry can that seems to be in ok shape just old. Any Ideas how to bring it with out an expensive carrier at this moment? Don't want to put it inside cargo area so what to do? If you have ideas or have been in a similar postion let me know what you did.
Thanks! PM me if you have a great idea
