Default Extreme cold???

I'm moving to North Dakota for work. Obviously it's cold as balls up there. So what precautions should I take with my 07 jk? Or parts to add?

New battery if it's the original. Fresh oil change at the beginning of each cold season and hot season.
Remember, extended idling to warm up the inside is not good for the engine. Start, idle for a few minutes, then drive. That's the fasted way to warm it up.

It gets down to -30°F here in Maine. My '08 handles it just fine.

Some people like having a block heater.

-40 here for the last couple of days. Jeep should start just fine. Changing the battery is awesome advice. A block heater saves lots of warming time and engine wear and tear, so does synthetic oil.

Up in central canada. We regularly see temps of -30 or lower with windchill factored in. As already said, a block heater and regular driving helps a lot.

I have never heard idling to warm the interior can be bad. Will have to look into that.

I typically watch my RPM initially.

I also have an AEV hood and those vents do not affect my warm up times. Let 1 minute go by then go. 60 seconds is a lot of combustion/heat to get the engine warm enough for driving.I do this weekly with the 8 months of winter and extreme cold temps we get. My girlfriend does not. She starts and goes. No major oil burning yet at 72 000km.

Running 5w 20 synthetic changing every 5000km (or close to that sometimes I have gone to 6000km with frequent dip stick checks)

I grew up in Montana so I have some experience with this stuff

double check your anti freeze rating at the radiator. -40 and windchill of 50 mph with get ya to about -70

block heaters are nice but the ones that seem to help even more are the magnetic oil pan heaters. Warm oil makes an engine happy.
swap your cases for syth oil, will help with shorter warm ups and longer life of parts

be one of the dumb looking people and pull your wipers up when you get home, keeps them alive much longer

seat heaters are your new friend along with remote start

good luck and just keep twice the distance you want between you and the car in front of ya for stopping in the snow and ice

I spent several years in Montana myself. I'd definitely recommend the block and oil pan heaters, especially if your Jeep won't be garaged.

You know windchill isn't a factor, right?

I'd flush/fill the coolant system, if it hasn't been done in the last couple years. You want it flowing nicely through the heater core so you can take full advantage of the Jeep blast furnace. Mine has done just fine even with the soft top at -15.

Block heater, good oil and you're good. Seen a few days of -50 and lower(Celsius) and belts squealed for 3 seconds and were good. Don't be like me and go without fixing your stability control, they tend to spin out, tip over and toboggan down a ditch. Maybe that's just mine....
