Default F-ing Pissed!!!! Help Please...

I'm driving home from work yesterday and I hit a huge pot hole. After that the jeep had a terrible sway in the rear. I pulled over to a gas station and looked under the jeep to check it out. The weld that holds the rear track bar on (the one welded to the axle) has failed. I have the Skyjacker lift that comes with a track bar relocation bracket. Ive heard that it causes more stress with this bracket. Ive already ordered an adjustable rear track bar and ive heard some say you don't need any type of bracket as long as it's an adjustable track bar. So my question is do I need a bracket for the adjustable track bar because...

one lift company say's...

"This bracket raises the vehicles suspension roll center by 3.0". Raising the rollcenter reduces vehicle body roll and dramatically improves overall handling. Special bolt-on design strengthens the factory mount that is prone to failure."

And Teraflex says...

"The trackbar bracket is required on lifts of 4” or more. The trackbar bracket helps to restore the trackbar to a natural position to keep the rear axle correctly centered under the vehicle. The trackbar bracket is designed to keep the trackbar functioning properly with no binding or other interference with other components.

So is the design for these brackets better than skyjacker's bracket and produce less stress on the stock weld? I've seen the failures with others that have the skyjacker lift. Im ready to change lifts all together!!! Any input would be greatly appreciated! I need a !!!

From reading the SKyjackers fail alot...

what size lift are you running, Anything under a 3" you'll be fine with adjustable track bars. 4" above should have adjustable track bars, and relocation brackets..

If you have to use track bar relocaters its better to have a frame mounted version, although there are several sturdy trackbar brackets off the axle such as the Currie set-up, Clayton also has one hell off a beefy bracket of the axle.

Eddie's 4" lift from fulltraction comes with trackbar brackets off the frame..

how did you get it home?

Currie trac bar relocation brackets are very beefy and are welded on.

EDIT: Just saw piginajeep's response, didn't mean to double it.

I don't mean to play devil's advocate here, but there have been plenty of threads and warnings on this site about this problem, specifically on Skyjacker, yet you still installed the bracket.

Default Uh ok...

I bought my Jeep on 1-9-07 and had the lift installed 2-1-07. So it's been eight months of driving and off roading... this is nothing newly installed. Now I have a problem and need the best fix. I don't care of the cost... I just want it done right. Your post offers no help or solution... good job satan.
