Default OR-Fab tire carrier

Does anyone have the new OR-Fab swing away tire carrier for their JK yet? If so I would like to see pics from the driver side showing how it mounts to the body.

Mine is not installed yet....Serveapurpose has his installed. He might have some pictures. Basically there is a contoured block mounted to the Jeep that the tube from the swing away sits in. Then a lever pulls it tight against the block. The block is supported by a metal bracket that is bolted in the hollow void next to the tail light. Mounting the block requires one hole drilled through the body. No big deal!

I chose this one over standard swing away tire carriers because of how nicely the gas cans tuck in behind the tire. Most of the other ones mount them up high outside the spare blocking even more of our already limited review.

We have them in stock but we have not installed one yet.

I know that does no help.

I ordered my locally here in Colorado Springs....sorry northridge I didn't think about checking sponsors

I did find a good write up showing the install in a PDF format on another site. It shows the support brackets that need to be put inside the body through the tail light hole. Looks like it will be a sturdy set up once it is done. My door recently started to leave rub marks across the top of my bumper if I was parked at a bad angle and opened the door so I figure it is a matter of time before the hinges get worse if I do not get this weight (92LBS) off the door.

yeah but it's good advertising David cuz I clicked your link and am checking it out.

I love how the gas tanks tuck away.

I guess it'd be too much weight to add some kind of trail rack? what do you guys think?

EDIT: ...where is this tire carrier on your site David? I can't find it yet

I have it and is installed..... did you run a search here? There was another forum member who did have a ton of pics. I have some in my gallery as well! The instructions can be downloaded on Quadratec's site to help you get a better picture. Let me know if you need a specific shot and maybe my unemployed rear will get up and take a few more specific pics.
