Default Factory Shock Length

I've done some looking, but can't find the answer. I'm looking for the length of the factory (stock) front and rear shocks on the JK. I would like to find both the extended and colapsed lengths.

So far, someone posted that the FRONT OEM shocks are 14.5"/22"

No one has posted the REAR OEM shock measurements yet.

I've been looking for the OEM lengths, AND, the actual MOUNT TO MOUNT measurements for full compression F/R...as OEM shocks tend to be shorter than they need to be...

...and, the longer they CAN be when fully compressed, the longer the extended ranges that become available will be, etc.

Be sure to specify if they are from a Rubicon or X . . .

I believe we already had a set of Rubicon and a set of X shocks side by side, and they were the exact same lengths....

Of course, we also had a full page post of interchangeable parts between 4wd, 2wd, X's, Saharas and Rubi's, and it appears that the coils, and so forth are the same part numbers...the part numbers for the red rubi shocks are different, but the lengths are the same...

It seems the ONLY reason the Rubi is taller is the taller tires...not the suspension.

And - as a back -up - his sig says he has an unlimited X...so we KNOW what shocks are in the garage.

Now we're just waiting for him to remember to measure/post.

No pressure, but I would like your numbers too. I would like to compare with my measurements I posted in another thread (JK Rubi shocks).

There must be others that have lifts with the old stuff sitting around. Any volunteers?

My JK Rubi shocks would not compress to 14.5 inches, but the difference could be in the measurement points.

You can assume what someone has in the garage as far as parts go.
