Fairlead
I have a wire cable on my winch with a roller fairlead. Can I run a hawse fairlead with the wire instead? (I searched by my thoroughness while drinking is reduced by 100%)
Aluminum hawsers are designed specifically for synthetic winch lines. Steel hawsers are for wire rope. Fairleads are used primarily for wire rope. Synthetic line can become pinched on the corners of the rollers. I believe daystar makes a urethane fairlead for synthetic lines.

The basic Hawse fairlead is designed to guide the rope or cable to and from the winch drum. Great for the occasional user and preferred by the users of synthetic rope.
