I hate the look of the silver looking fairlead can I paint that black to match everything else?

u can try but it might rub off. unless u have synthetic rope.

viking makes a roller fairlead for their synthetic winch cable, it's a blackish greyish but it's not stainless. Here's a link to where you can find it...winchline.com/fairleads.htm .... just copy and paste that link. Hope this helps

I bet that is comes off pretty fast even if you rarely use your winch.

I think if you really want it a dark gray color and have some extra dough I think it would be a better idea to take it apart and get it Parkerized.
