Default Fake Spyderlocks?

I met a guy on the trails the other day and I asked him about his Spyderlocks and he said they weren't real, he just had the beadlock part of it fastened to his wheel. Then the convoy was on the move and next time we stopped I totally forgot about it and we talked about other jk stuff. Has anyone heard of this? Do they make just the beadlock part without the rim? Or do you think he made it himself?

To my knowledge, Spyderlock does not make a faux beadlock. You can only order their wheels in a true beadlock configuration.

You can order replacement rings from them but I dont know how you would attach it to a non beadlock wheel.

You can get weld on beadlocks that weld on steelies. I've seen a set on eBay that looks them that's what he probably has. Not fake beadlocks just fake Spyderlocks would be my guess.

I was looking into making faux beadlocks for my xd monsters. For an aluminum wheel your would need to drill and tap holes in the rim to secure the rock rings... Anyone ever done this? Love the look of the ATX SLABS and spiderlocks!

ID:	479413....like these...I have 5 of these for sale that would simply require drilling and tapping shallow holes around the face of your rims and attaching with your choice of hardware.

Yeah but I can make my own rings in any shape and size on a cnc waterjet... How deep should the hole be to tap? 3/8"?

Depends on the lip thickness of your rim
