Default Fan Problem (no low speed)

So I took the JK into some mud this weekend and after romping around a while I noticed that my fan wasn't working anymore.

After reading some threads on here I realized that the factory fan is not sealed. I assumed that some mud/water must have gotten into the fan motor and caused it to crap out. So I replaced the factory fan with the 16" sealed motor Spal fan everyone is using.

Now onto my problem... The new fan is having the same problem, it will not turn on in low speed mode (when I turn on A/C). The fan does kick on in high speed mode when temps hit 215 degrees(I have an Aeroforce gauge to check), but it doesn't sound like its in high speed mode. I'm not sure if that's because the new fan has a different motor or blade design, but like I said it doesn't sound or feel like it's pulling hard.

I have read that the resistor pack on the fan shroud could cause the issue I'm having. Does anyone know the proper way to test that resistor pack?

Does anyone have a part number for that resistor pack?

Figured it out myself.

In case anyone out there has the same problem, it was the resistor pack that went bad along with the factory fan. I now have low speed fan again.

Here are 2 part numbers for the resistor packs and it would depend on your VIN

#55056789AC
#68026780AA (I used this one, 2011 Rubicon Automatic)

Good Job. I had the same problem on my TJ. The speeds crapped out about three months apart. The high speed does not use the resistors. That is why it always works. The lower speeds need the pack. It was an easy and cheap fix. This is a good "heads up" for the future. Thanks.
