Default Fender removal on JKU

I tried to search for it but apparently the search function is FUBAR

I have a new set of fender flares for my new JKU, will I need new clips to install the new fenders or can I reuse the old ones?
is there a trick to removing the current fenders?

you should be able to save most of your factory clips but, i would get some new ones just in case as you will most likely break a couple during removal. a trim tab pry tool kit will help you to remove them.

btw, sorry about the search function, it's being worked on now.

Thanks I'll pull one off and find some replacements just in case.

BTW no problem on the search function,

FYI...
A good place for replacements for a lot less $ than OEM is Fastenal. Part # 11264877 Au-Ve-Co push ntype retainer.

i just had my fenders off to trace the mounting plate for tube fenders thought i would post some pics of the clips that hold the fender to the body . little tip pull on the bottom of the fender near the bottom of the door and work your way around to the front then remove the clips

I used 2 large rocks to "naturally shed" my fenders on the trail. After I have more than 1/2 my retaining clips intact. Get spares, they are weak in spots.

Edit: Yes I brought my fenders home! No people can't have them for free...
