Default Man I hate this..........

I hate not knowing what tires to buy....... HELP!

I'm not happy with the look of the AT tires that came on my 2007 Wrangler X Unlimited. I'm wanting more of the off road look with larger tires, but do not want to go to large (Don't want to hear road/tire noise over my wind noise )

(1) What is the largest size tire I can put on my stock 17" wheel without a lift?

(2) What about if I installed the 2.5" Budget Boost with Shocks, which tire then?

Thanks!
Ran

im gonna do the Teraflex 2.5 BB and go with 315/70/r17s which equal 34.4? not a whole lot bigger than stock, but bigger. there are a few peeps running 33/12.50s on stock rims with wheel spacers and no lift. im gonna also put the 3/4 skyjacked spacer up front to level it out as ive added front bumper and winch.....pretty cheap stuff and makes a world of diff in looks IMO the bottom jeep aint mine

Check out the Toyo open country MT's Very quiet for an aggressive tire and they look awesome and wear well. You could squeak those on without a lift (295/70/17 ????

Read some reviews here.

That is an awesome looking tire... but $269.99 per tire is a bit more then I wanted to spend.

I don't mind installing the 2.5 BB, I just dont want to ruin the ON-ROAD ride in an attempt to get the off road look.

Thanks for the help guys.......

Check out Cooper STTs. Fairly quiet and very aggressive looking. I have them on my jeep. Paid $160 each installed, plus tax. You can click my link below to see them on mine. I have 285/70/17s with no lift.

Nice! What about rubbing and road noise?

Thanks for the info,

Also, check out the BFG AT at costco. I've heard decent reviews on them. Not as aggressive looking as the MT's but I am sure they are quite good on noise.

Just keep searching thread here and you'll see and read abotu lots of different combinations. Not to mention many have pics you can view as well. Rubimon is correct also, the BFG AT's you will enjoy from the noise standpoint and are fair for offroading but in the end nothing will compare to the MT's. It's all about what your looking for and the percentage of time you will off roading versus on the highway.
Good luck and keep us posted on your decision.

Here's 33/12.5/15 BFG AT's, on a wheel w/ 3.25 BS (would require spacers on your rims). VERY quiet tires, that wear like iron. They do rub w/o a lift.

If you want a larger more aggressive yet quiet tire, look for some Rubi takeoffs. They look great, and are very quiet for an MT.

I here these are quiet too
