Final position for rear bumper.
Hi gang,
I've just installed a Mopar offroad rear bar. The installation instructions say to align the bumper for best appearance and then torque the bolts.
For good looks I prefer the bumper as far forward as it goes, so I get a neat fit near the rear wheel flares, but I wonder is it okay to lock it off like this?
My concern is when I need to use the two shackle loops on the bumper to get me out, will the bumper have a chance of then sliding back?
What do you think, should I position tight to the rear so a recovery will not move it, or mount it forward where it looks nicely alligned, then maybe a recovery would not shift it anyway, I just don't know.
Please let me know what you reckon or experience you've had with the same.
Many thanks, Dave.

I've decided with advice from some Aussie JK owners to mount the bumper as far back as possible, as this offers the most protection. That'll give me 18mm, 3/4" from the body, forward where it matches nicely up with the fender flare and looks good around the back, gives me only 12mm, 1/2". Measurement taken on the back corner, closest to the body. Apparently the ARB rear bumper installation states to keep at least a 20mm gap.
Wheel safely, Dave.
