After having my Knuckles Offroad front bumper for a while, they finally came out with their skid plate. It went from looking like this.

To this.

To color paint matching the backing plate where the logo is. Love it.

What do these skids protect you from? I never understood these. I mean it looks good I guess but it's just extra weight as far as I can see.

In case your driving and get crap in your eye, are blind and hit a 2ft tall narrow rock?

Don't get me wrong I don't want to come off like a jerk, I just don't understand the need. Although I have found that sometimes I don't understand much.

Well when I busted my air dam off I was side walking some very old very deep ruts. It was just slick enough that I slid sideways and landed hard on the front.. busted air dam and bent steering stabalizer so that's one case where something like this would be handy..
Looks pretty good to me

I get what you're saying. Mine came in handy as my front slid off a rock I was climbing up in the snow. Came down on the right side of my Warn skid hard. Put to use.

Ok, for some pretty rare occasions I can see it being useful, but it's not going to protect much, just an e-disconnect really. I think that's my biggest issue with the skid, there's not much there to protect.

Yeah I hear ya. In my case, all it really saved was bashing the frame cross bar and steel bumper. Neither of which would of been really hurt anyhow.

I'm not worried about the weight. It's like 25 pounds. Before getting it I always thought my front bumper was incomplete because you could see cross members and everything. Just gave it a cleaner look.
