Default Finally Getting my TIRES! gears?

Well, it is that time. i have been waiting for the tires I had to wear out to get new tires (larger) after my lift. I have the OME Heavy Load (hehe he said load). I am going with the BFG MT's in the 255/85r16 flavor, can't wait! I have read quite a bit here about the proper gearing for certain tire sizes, BUT what I wanted to pose to you was I want 5.13's with my 33's what say ye to those who are already running this? Did it hurt/help MPG's power netter worse, wish you might have went with 4.88's or another gear? Thanks in advance. JOE>

Manual or auto? I have 285 75 17's with a manual and 3.21's and I hardly noticed a difference. You should be fine. If you feel the need to go bigger I would say 4.88's at most.

I have 4.10's now. I guess it's wise to see what it is going to do before I get the gears, but I really feel gears are one of the best upgrades. I did 4.56's in an XJ on 33's once and it was night and day better, I mean really awesome after the gear change. I will get tires Sat. and drive it for a few tank fulls to check mileage then make a decision. I did look at the tire size gearing chart posted in another thread & it looks like 5.13's will be a good power increase, so it might be hard to turn down. JOE>

with a 2 dr , 4 10's and 33's, I would think any "upgraded" gearing is a waste of money and warranted parts.
