Default First couple mods done and a couple of questions

I got my new JKU last Saturday morning and before it was lunch time I had already started to get working on my first mods:

TF 1.5" level kit
Trucklite LED's
Mopar Fuel Door
Rugged Ridge light guard kit (Very disappointed in the quality of this product, horrible welding and attention to detail but from 3 feet away it looks good)

If anyone who hasnt already done these mods and is planning do these mods also, I suggest the fuel door goes in first after that take your pick. I installed the rear light guards and then had to take the drivers side out again to remove the tail light so I could install the fuel door.

After installing these mods I have a couple of questions:

1. Is it imperative that when re installing the REAR springs after installing the TF spacers, that they sit EXACTLY the same way they did before or does it matter in the rear? When I removed the springs, the last coil end pointed towards the rear of the truck. After re installing, they are pointing the front. I feel like the rear of the truck is a little "soft" floats a bit over bumps etc... and feels less firm that before. Is that a by product of the lift or incorrectly installing the rear springs?

2. I find that the TL LED's SOMETIMES flicker and I cant figure out why or how. Just whenever it feels like it. Noticed when I had the lights in "auto" mode they would flicker, when I turned to the on position the flicker went away. Same with DRLs, they would flicker. Comes and goes, not constant but a little annoying since I cant get it to consistently flicker in the same scenarios so its making it hard for me to diagnose. Any thoughts?

3. After a bout 450kms of driving, I notice the transmission (6spd) likes to rattle at lower rpms like when starting out in first gear or slow rolling into 2nd gear at low rpms once the clutch is engaged and you give it gas to accelerate. I have driven standard for years and I'm not below 1000 rpm when I hear this so Im wondering is this normal for Jeeps? The truck insnt "stalling out" on me its not because I dont give it enough gas.

4. I find the clutch pedal to be very soft and releases high. Anyway to adjust either of these? Release point and/or pedal stiffness?

5. This is just a generic looking for clarification question but did Sahara models not come standard with carpeted floor mats? I thought they did and I didn't receive them.

A pic below of my new JKU with plans for paint matching the bumper inserts and wheels and some larger tires in the near future. Likely will tint the front windows also and looking forward to warmer weather so I can get my NX Soft Top in place

I'm pretty certain you'll want those spring ends butted up against the stopping point in the back. That's how I installed my TF perf leveling Springs. They might work their way there if you articulate and bounce the rear around enough, but I like things to be where they'll end up from the get go.

You might be right, all though it has settled a bit I still think they should get a half turn and go back to the stock position. I'll probably do this next weekend when shes up for the first oil change. Appreciate the feedback.

I have JW Speaker LEDs and get flicker, the JK does some funny pulse modulation with the power to the headlights. You don't see it with OEM bulbs.

Do a search on the forum, you will find some answers to help you sort it out.

Even with the flicker, it's been the best mod I have down, kids no longer tell me to turn my lights on after dark and snigger in the back because they know I already have.

Enjoy the your ride. :-)

The TL headlights will always flicker, they make a "flicker harness" with resistor already installed to correct this (not a big deal to me, mine flicker)
As for ur "soft" ride in the rear. Rotate ur rear springs around till there in the same way as when u took them out, I don't remember for sure if there was a "mark" where the end of the coil goes when I put spacers in my buddies jeep. U got urself some nice equipment for that rig!

thanks for all the replies, im learning to live with not having auto function on the lights but I'll see if i can dig a little deeper and find out more about the resistors. Could be a very simple cheap DIY mod. I marked the springs also before I took them out so I'll get those looked after this weekend during the oil change for sure. I have some more upgrades in mind, all though I agree, the headlights are miles above oem. Love the JW but they are so pricey, used the savings to chip in for a chunk of what I think will be my fav mod come the summer, my NX trek top

Nobody really seems to have any noises from their 6spds I guess, anyone know if there had been any issues with the 6spds past or present?

Got my truck lites sitting at home waiting to be installed ... The flicker is normal and I hope u found the resistor to help with it

I did the same with the fuel door installed the tail light guards and had to remove it

And about the low rpm I suggest that u get the AEV procal it has a function to increase that at low rpm ... It was desired for using the winch but I think would help you out ...

Keep us updated on ur bulid
