First experience with Cepek FC-II in snow

Boosted them to 35 and eventually 38 towards fall, as I was pulling a 3,300 lb trailer with no weight distribution hitch, so big load on the rears. Mileage and responsiveness improved dramatically when I had them at 38. I haven't aired them down at all since then, so they're probably a little too high for the snow. I'll drop it down and see what happens - good point.
ESP automagically disengages in low range. Definitely off. Airing down should be an easy test.

Usually around 30-35 psi on the FCII. I have the 265/75/16's E load. I had them between 35-40 and I did not like the way they rode. The wear great considering I never rotated them. I know, not the best thing to do. I got about 30K before needing to replace the front one's. They are also great on the beach, since that is the most off roading you can legally do on Long Island.
Dropped to about 30.5 now, what a difference. Ride is smoother, yet not too sluggish, and I no longer feel every bump I hit.
Must say I've been very pleased with the Cepek FC II's overall. Got stuck in snow a couple times but mainly because I was buried down to axle & differential housing height, and also not aired down much. They do quite well in snow overall. I'm about to do an axle gear change (4.10 to 4.88) and plan to go from the 32" Cepek FC II's to a 33" tire at the same time. I'm very tempted to stay with the Cepeks. The Duratracs are a possibility but I'd like to move from load range E down to D, and the Duratracts in 33" are E, whereas Cepeks in 33" are D.
But back to your original point - yes, it's a good looking tire. Mildly aggressive.
