I went with 5w30 synth (Mobil1) and a Mopar filter.

Same with me. But I just did my first change at 500 miles. A lot of people on here told me to do it at 500. It was clean and it felt like a waste, but I want my engine to last.

I went 5w30 synthetic and mopar filter... I couldn't find any other manufacturer making filters for the pentastar.

I really love having the oil filter up top

Wix is a manufacturer of filters and makes filters for the 2012 Jeep.
The part number is: #57526
Available at O'Reilly for $6.99, which Is much lower than my stealership.
Some on this forum believe they are the ACTUAL manufacturer of the filter carrying the MOPAR brand name. I have no evidence to support this claim.
They also make an air filter.
