Question First post - Need confirmation before wheel purchase

Hi all,

I'm new to the JK world and bought a 2008 Unlimited X about a month ago. I've done lots of research on this site and it seems I can run this wheel / tire combo stock with minor rubbing on the front air dam. However, there is one item I seem to find some conflicting info on.

Will the Cragar Soft 8 in 16 x 8 (5 on 5 bolt pattern) with 5 inches of backspacing clear the brakes w/o any issues? Most posts say yes, although I've seen some that say there could be clearance issues.

I plan on running the Soft 8 wheels with BFG AT KO 295/75/16 with no lift (for now). I'll probably add a 2" BB in a few weeks, but can't do it all at once. I have 3.73 gears with the 6 speed and I'm assuming this combo won't kill my performance either (I'm coming from the 255/75/17 Goodyears). Also, I've heard this tire size will fit on the stock tailgate without any issues.

Thanks for any help.

yes, they will fit just fine and clear your brakes. some 16" aluminum wheels are too thick and they have issues with clearance but the crager's are steel and won't have this problem. as far as it being mounted on your tailgate goes, yes, it will fit just fine.
