LunarJeep, I think you asked us a yes-yes question. I'll bet you end up with all three before you're done. Get out with some good folks, drive some more difficult trails with them and make up your own mind. That's what talked me into going winch first. Of course I plan on having a front locker as well before wheeling season starts this year.

It's dangerous to the wallet posting a question on the forum. Just ordered the Warn M8000 winch. Does a winch typically come with an installation kit? such as cables to the battery. Does anyone use battery isolation blocks to keep the wiring clean?

Next step, order the Shrockworks middy.

It should come with everything you need. Most of the folks I trail with use some form of isolator. There are some real horror stories of winches engaging without being asked to and burning up and such. I found a disconnect made by Warn that actually unplugs. You can get a jumper cable for it that plugs into it without opening the hood.

And yes, consider your wallet a goner if you've spent more than ten minutes on this site.
