Default Fish vs. Elephant

Which snorkel end should I get the PreFilter/Fishbowl by AEV or the Air Ram/Elephant end? I see lots of LandCruisers and FJ's out here in the desert with the Air Ram so does that mean I don't really need the prefilter unless I live somewhere where there is constant dust storms like on Tatooine. But there is a moderate amount of it.

Thanks

Matt

Pre-filter...better for all the dust around here

I say fishbowl, but I live in Nevada and things can get pretty dusty.

i like the fish bowl (river raider). the ram type can be a little noisy.

The ram air looks cooler, but all accounts are that the pre-filters really save your air filter in desert environs. The fish bowl is not a good option for forested trails where it might get damaged by an errant branch. I'm going to look at options to switch them out to suit the need for a given trip (he says as he expects to arrive in Moab this morning with a ram air well-suited to his Oklahoma home!).

I agree with Mark. The Ram Air looks much cooler, but the pre-filter is better suited to your needs.

Couldn't you get ram air and carry a
Couple extra pair panty hose in you suitcase?

Slip a couple of pair over the ram
When the going gets dusty....?

Slip a pair on for going out at night if that's how you roll?
